Word of the Day: Ushanka!

"Ushanka" is one of those Russian furry ear-flap hats. I learned it this week from a New Yorker article about shopping. This character is named Budge; he lives on Pluto. I dreamed him up for a project that never happened but at least now I know what his headgear is called. Pen & ink, graphite on paper.

Please note that I am commenting WITHIN FIVE MINUTES OF THIS POST GOING UP. Pretty good, eh? And my comment is: Can a person wear a ushanka and a balaclava at the same time? Or would that be too much?

Eight minutes. Whatever.

I think it's OK to wear an ushanka, a balaclava and a babushka all at the same time.

Of course, you've seen how I dress, so take that a for what it's worth.

But you'd have one warm head.
